SHOTS is the latest indoor facility at Heywood Sports & Fitness (Diss). An exclusive private studio that boasts a real-time 3D golf simulator, pool table, poker table and self-service bar.
Become immersed in a next-gen golf experience with stunning high-definition graphics, playing virtual replicas of famous courses from around the world.
The SkyTrak indoor launch monitor allows you to play exactly as you would on a golf course - using your own clubs and balls, or those provided.
Whatever the weather, or time of day, SHOTS combines indoor golfing and hospitality that you can share exclusively with family and friends.
Know your game by identifying strengths, weaknesses and tendencies.
SkyTrak’s realistic practise range allows you to track your performance and get immediate feedback on multiple data points: ball speed, launch angle, back spin and side angle.
Develop your accuracy and confidence by beating your personal best and competing with friends.
SkyTrak challenges offer entertaining and dynamic progression: target shooting, closest to the pin contests and long drive competitions.
Assess your performance and tailor exercises to correct deficiencies.
SkyTrak enables you to isolate individual shots and analyse club-by-club execution, establishing club distances and mastery of the short game: pitches, half-shots, ¾ shots and full wedges.
You can have the studio all to yourself, should you want to improve your game or play 18 holes without an audience.
The studio can accommodate ten people, but we recommend that no more than six play a round of golf.
Our weekday evening sessions begin at 17:30 (5.30pm) and end at 22:00 (10.00pm).
Please contact us if you can't find an answer to your question.
Good question. It's a sophisticated box of tricks that uses sensors to accurately measure your golf swing as you strike a ball, transferring the data to a computer that then renders the trajectory of the ball onto a CGI landscape in real time.
No, this is not 'gaming'. You use real golf clubs and golf balls, hitting the balls at a CGI landscape that's projected onto a 3 metre by 3 metre screen.
Yes, absolutely. It goes without saying that using your own clubs will help you develop your skills for playing outdoors on a course. Our studio provides a very comfortable environment for you to practise and analyse your form.
It's simply a matter of time. Trying to get more than six people to play a round of golf could take two to three hours, even longer if there are novices in the mix.
Yes, the bar is entirely self service, much like in a hotel suite. At the end of your session, you pay for all the drinks that have been removed from the fridge.
The studio contains a lot of expensive equipment and you'll be swinging golf clubs and hitting golf balls. We've designed the space to prevent damage being caused by sensible play on the simulator, therefore any damage is highly likely to be the result of misbehaviour, for which customers are held responsible.
Furthermore, the deposit is an incentive for customers to pay for all drinks removed from the fridge, rather than disappearing before settling their bar tab.
At the end of your session, the studio and equipment will be checked by a member of our team. If they don't observe any damage and payment has been made for all drinks removed from the fridge, your deposit will be returned in full.
[There are CCTV cameras recording all activity in the studio, so it's quite straightforward to identify those responsible for damage.]
